Former Board Members

Keith Cook

Chairman

Keith passed away Jan. 10, 2022, after a life well-lived. He served as Chairman of the BILD board from late 1996 until his death. He also served as Chairman of the Board of Elders of Ames-Des Moines CityChurch. He and his late-wife Carol, a missionary’s daughter from India, had been a part of the CityChurch of Ames-Des Moines since 1987. Through their introduction, Indian pastors requested BILD training on the sub-continent, helping to establish BILD as an international ministry.

Keith was an ordinary man, but he had an extraordinary impact. He was a voracious reader and those who came to know him would say he was the wisest man they knew. He worked hard in two areas in the final years of his life: ensuring that leadership was passed to a qualified next generation; and that the local church was equipped to continue to be the church base for the global work. He stood incredibly firm on the principles he came to understand, which could be seen by how he lived his life and led his family. Keith was a patriarch of the global church family, seen through his deep love and passion for BILD and its ministry.

Keith had worked as a systems manager for the Hy-Vee Food Chain and owned and operated Cyclone Printers for a number of years. He had a double degree from Grace University in education and missions. Keith and Carol have two children, Max and Jordan.
